Each year Winter Texans look forward to the great entertainment that performs at the annual Mission Winter Texan Fiesta. The event is held by the Mission Chamber to say “Thank you” to the Winter Texans that make the Valley their home during the winter season. The event features great entertainment, vendors, and complimentary meals for the first 1,000 attendees.

This year’s entertainment is Rick McEwen and Curt James.

Whether he is singing, strumming his guitar, cracking jokes, or just telling some stories from his childhood, Rick McEwen is sure to entertain. He is most known for his Kenny Rogers music, but he also sings other artists like Elvis, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, and even Loretta Lynn.

Curt James is a classic country singer with a twist of oldies like Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and the Beach Boys. He is always a hit at dances and shows and even won Valley Star Awards Male Vocalist of the Year in 2020.

This year’s event will be held on Thursday, February 24. Doors will open at 11 a.m. Live music will be provided from 12 to 3:30 p.m. It will be held at the Great Mission Chamber of Commerce, 202 W. Tom Landry, in Mission.

Be sure to bring your lawn chairs for comfortable seating during the free concert.

Volunteers are needed for the event. Shifts available are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. If available, email amanda@missionchamber.com. For more information on food vendor or sponsorship opportunities, call (956) 585-2727 or stop by the chamber.
