Veterans Memorial High School Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) students are offering local families the preparation of their 2023 income tax return. This is a free service available for families that have a household income of $60,000 or less annually.

The VITA program serviced a total of 70 families last year and helped them receive in total over $156,000 in refund dollars. This year they will be expanding their services from twice a week to three times a week, including on Saturdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

So, mark your calendars for the first week of February when they open their doors to the community. This is a free service for anyone seeking tax preparation that meets the requirements.
