In just a few days, La Cancha Watch Party: McAllen Welcomes the World kicks off at Oval Park, transforming the convention center grounds into a high-energy, family-friendly festival space. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, family, friends, and pets and get ready to experience the FIFA World Cup 2026™ like never before on a giant viewing screen surrounded by food trucks, an artisan market, local vendors, live entertainment, cultural performances, and fun for all ages.
The City of McAllen is turning the world’s biggest sporting event into a vibrant community celebration filled with energy, culture, and connection, bringing fans together from both sides of the border. Guests can enjoy live match broadcasts, music, interactive fan experiences, and a welcoming, pet-friendly atmosphere.
Joining us at the unveiling of La Cancha was Kennedy Kaiser, a McAllen Memorial High School senior graduate that has committed to continuing her athletic soccer career at the University of Oklahoma, an NCAA Division I program. During the event, she shared her love for the game and spoke about what the FIFA World Cup means to her as a player and fan. She said this festival is a great way to bring families, friends, and fans together in McAllen for a shared celebration of soccer, culture, and community pride during the World Cup.
